Title: Ripping impossible
Post by: Veloyes on April 10, 2019, 11:04:14 pm
After inserting a disc for ripping, the beach ball spins followed by MC 25 (.18) shutting down. MC 25 does not read the disc before exiting. Insult to injury, MC 25 will not eject the disc until restarted.

For clarification, this behavior has occurred with several discs and on two separate drives.

I believe at least the inability to eject a disc thing is a known issue.

Ripping with recent MC versions has been reported to have an issue or two.  It will probably get worked out.

In the mean time you might rip with something else.  I like XLD.

Just to add, here is my experience ripping cd's .

Rip on first cd works.

After that, I can't eject the cd.  Turning off MC 25 results in the cd icon again appearing as a drive on my desktop and then I can rip it.

Until it is fixed, I am using "abcde -o flac"  ---> no issues. ABCDE can be installed on mac via homebrew.
