Title: Right Click options
Post by: LisaRCT on May 17, 2003, 08:38:41 am
A few builds ago there were 3 'sticky' options in the right-click menu.  These were dynamic and held the last 3 actions performed in a right-click situation.
Now there is only 1 sticky option on the right-click menu.
This has mede it a bit more cumbersome for many repetitive tasks.
i.e. When importing, I usually do the following once the tags are edited and corected:
1- Clean Tag Properties
2- Rename Files from Tags
3- Update Library from Tags
4- Send to playlist
5- etc

Since I normally use an average of 3 actions the old right-click scheme with 3 sticky choices was really handy ( I even considered asking for more, or an option to set how many sticky antries are on the right-click menu)

PLEASE add some addition dynamic/'sticky' right-click options again.

If you feel comfortable editing the windows registry, there was a thread some days ago explaining how to set the value of "sticky" options in the right-click menu.

I'm gonna try to find it for you.

People shouldn't have to edit the registry to change a setting though.

It's a great feature for an option to allow MC to be customised.

Having one I dont personally find useful as when I'm doing tasks I usually am doing at least 2 to 3 things to all the tracks so remembering just the last one is of no use.
I'd guess alot of people are the same so having it set to one as default just makes the menu look wierd and doesn't add much use.
I could be wrong but I'd say 3 or something was more appropriate as a default.

I agree, most people don't belong in the registry . . .
but I didn't mind . . .  then again you are hearing this from someone who used to stick things into electric outlets as a baby   :P

I stuck tweezers in an outlet when I was about four. Melted them suckers right off! And to think the old man was an electrician. I can still remember catching **** for that.
