Content I play regularly through MC25 includes:
Television (typically 720p or 1080i at 59.94fps)
BluRay MKV (1080p at 23.976fps)
UHD BluRay MKV with HDR (2160p at 23.976fps)
I have discovered that with Options / Video / Display Settings / Display Settings automatic change mode: On, framerates wouldn't change back from 23.976 to broadcast-television standard, causing jerkiness. I fixed that by STOPPING playback (Ctrl+S) instead of merely exiting out of the playback to the Theatre Mode main menu.
However... If I play a UHD BluRay MKV with HDR, then MC25 does successfully trigger HDR on my LG OLED for playback of that media (and it looks spectacular!), but even when I STOP playback, no other non-HDR content will playback properly. All subsequent content triggers the HDR, and looks obviously wrong. This persists even after EXITing MC25. The only cure is a computer RESTART (or SHUTDOWN / Bootup).
Any ideas? Thanks!

Which version of Windows you using? ... if I recall correctly, the problem you describe was one of Windows 10 HDR bug ... Newer versions of Windows10 don’t have this problem

Oh yeah. Long threads ago. Lots of detail. I think you are right tij.
But try changing "Options / Video / Display Settings / Display Settings" to Custom, and then select the same settings as Automatic would have selected, or the best settings, and see if that fixes the problem. Because, at one time, Custom settings worked better than Automatic in this area.

Thanks for the replies. This is Win10 rev 1809 with latest updates via "Search for new Windows updates..."
I have tried the Automatic and Custom resolution switching options, with same results.
I did also try Resolution Switching OFF, but of course, in that case HDR simply didn't engage on HDR content.

in madvr you can input what resolutions and refresh-rate your screen handles (display modes). Perhaps you can try that,
1080p23, 720p29, 2160p25 etc
