Title: Can't read or write CDs w/ Pioneer DVR-105

Can see contents of audio CD, but when trying to read audio CD, MC cycles through each track, displays "waiting" for a moment, then "buffering...", then goes to next track without playing anything.  After doing this for each track in sequence, it displays "stopped" and that's it.

When trying to burn an audio CD, MC behaves normally until I press the Start button, then it displays "writing lead-in" for a few seconds, then it ejects the CD and displays "Error writing pre-gap".

Can read and write CD with MC using Plextor reader and HP writer.   Only have problems with Pioneer drive.

Can read DVDs just fine - haven't tried writing one yet.

I would like to get rid of my old HP writer and just use the Pioneer.  Please advise...
