Title: Apple TV 4K Streaming?
Post by: cowboydude99 on April 22, 2019, 10:19:30 am
Hi There,
I've been using JRiver MC for a while, but never tried streaming to a Non-Windows machine.

I'm looking at getting a streaming device, such as Apple TV 4K.

Is there anyway to stream my MC library to the Apple TV 4K?  Another app or something like that?

Someone recommended Infuse, but wondering if JRiver has a remote or app for this?

I looked in the app store, but only saw options for iPhone and iPad.

infuse will connect to Media Center via DLNA and stream to an Apple TV 4k.

Are there any benefits in connecting via DLNA to MC's library vs. mapping Infuse directly to the media files?

I use Infuse for most of my video collection.   It has an app with Apple TV as well as Apple IOS handhelds.   I don't think Apple allows APPs to stream in Dolby Vision (I can't find where I read that) and I believe (not sure) that Infuse can't use DV.   But what I do is I save those few DV Blu Rays I have and play them on the local Blu Ray player and for those movies that gave two disks - I put the non Dolby on Infuse.

I don't have 4K UHD on Infuse...but I know it works.   Infuse has a nice clean interface and is user friendly.  The downside is the user has little control over the organization, themes, views, etc. (or maybe that's an upside if you are like me and spend complete days fiddlin') - although there's talk that the next release will allow more flexibility.

But it works great!!
