Title: Blocking volume control with DLNA
Post by: Niko on April 23, 2019, 05:28:10 am
Hi,

Is there a way to block the volume control to stream over UPNP ? I saw your wiki but the options doesn't appear while streaming on upnp.

I would like to lock the volume at 100% like it's possible with a dac connected over USB.

Thanks in advance,
Regards,

Nico

With UPnP, volume control may be only available on the Renderer.

Thanks for your answer, if I move the volume from JRiver or JRemote, the volume is reduced.

If the volume is reduced, DSD won't play and with PCM a loss in quality can also be expected.

How can I please disable this or block the volume at 100% for Upnp streaming ?

Wondering if we can get an answer on this.  I.e., is there a way to either lock the volume control @100% (or disable it) in MC when streaming to a DLNA device?  Thanks for any insight.

Regards

On my new open source streamer/renderer (Usbridge signature) I could disable "software volume control" in Moode (there is an option).
Would have been nice to had the same option on the JRiver server side for sure.

MC has an option to disable volume control.  It's in the Audio > Volume options.  Or click on the speaker icon in the upper left corner of MC.

If you're using MC as a server, I don't believe it has any effect since the volume is then controlled on the client or renderer.
