I have been using MC22 for years with great success. The MC22 host PC streams standard and high definition files from a wifi router connected via wire to a network drive with no problem. I recently upgraded to MC25 and have noticed intermittent "gaps" between tracks that should play gaplessly. Sometimes the streams will play gaplessly, and sometimes the same streams do not. I do not recall this happening with MC22.
I have not removed MC22 from the system, so I thought I could verify my memory of gapless performance by trying MC22 again. However, when I try to invoke MC22, I am faced with a user account panel, and presumably, subsequent re-authorization. I don't want to re-authorize MC22 if I don't have to, then re-authorize MC25, etc. etc.
Any advice on how to debug my intermittent "gapless" issue?

Player prebuffering is set to 6 seconds (default). Unless there is another setting that is not set correctly (which is certainly a possibility), it would appear that prebuffering may actually not be occurring. Otherwise, 6 seconds of audio data is certainly longer then the gaps between tracks, which are a fraction of a second.
Insights are welcome.

FYI, the USB driver for my audio device is the latest version. Actually, it has always been the latest version.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Is there a way that I can try MC22 without having to go through the whole authorization procedure both to try MC22, and then to resume running MC25?

I just received and installed the 25.0.45 update. I don't know whether it was supposed to, but it did not fix the problem of gapless playback.
Should 25.0.45 have fixed this problem?
Is there an easy way that I can run MC22 without having to go through the re-installation and re-authorization cycle?
Is anyone else observing this problem?

I'm not experiencing it. Check that MC25 is not converting to something like mp3 when streaming.

DJLegba:
MC is not converting to any unintended format. The PC is connected to my integrated amplifier (Yamaha A-S801 with integral DAC) via USB. The amplifier's front panel indicates the format of the input data stream, and it is correctly identified as expected. In the most recent case, a 96kHz file is identified, and the unit does not support mp3 anyway.
Yesterday, I installed the 25.0.48 update, and this did not fix the problem. (I don't know whether it was intended to.) When playing a recording that should play back gaplessly (in this case, Respighi's "Pines of Rome"), there was an audible gap between the first and second track of nearly a second in duration, while the second-to-third track transition played back gaplessly. Again, if this anomaly had been occurring during the years that I used MC22, I would have noticed, and I did not.

I have not seen any problems with gapless playback with MC25 whether playing from my NAS drive or from local files. I would assume therefore that something in your setup is causing the problem.

No issues with gapless playback here when playing from a NAS in MC25.
