Title: Serious error in cdripper.ocx Ver 1.3.210
Post by: KevvieBhoy on May 14, 2003, 07:13:38 am
Currently running Media Center 9 v9.0.170

Everything was fine until i got time to do another ripping session. Roughly 7 out of 10 rips ended in failure with either of the following...

"Media Core has encountered a problem and needs to close", or

The system just completely shuts off (as if i just unplugged it) and restarts. When XP boots it tells me it has recovered from a serious error.

XP seems to be pointing the finger at cdripper.ocx, so i searched and found some previous versions kicking about on my drive and after replacing version 1.3.210 with 1.3.206 it's working a treat. 20 odd cd's later and it's still ripping away happily, MC 9.0.170 with cdripper.ocx 1.3.206.

Any ideas?

Kev.

Please send me an email and I can send you a diagnostic version of the cdripper control that may shed some light on the problem.

Thanks!
