Title: Background auto-import without MC?
Post by: satbox on June 12, 2019, 12:51:52 am
Dear All,

I run Media Server only at the windows 10 startup on my headless PC and control it using JRemote. My music library is stored on a QNAP NAS and background auto-import option is activated. Manual auto-import works well.

My problem is that it seems that the background auto-import doesn't work when Media Center is not running.

Is it possible to auto refresh my library when I add new files on the NAS without running Media Center interface ?

Thank you!

which process should start the auto import when MC is not running? Your NAS alone can't know what to do with new files.

In fact, the question is: Is it confirmed that Media Server does not take care of the background auto-import if MC is not running?

Media Server is just MC with the GUI hidden. Its not a seperate process. So Auto-Import would still be running if you set it up properly to monitor your media folders.

Thank you, it is OK now, the issue was in JRemote.
