When starting Windows 10, an incomplete window with no frame is displayed.
This window has no frame, so I can't close it.
I can't close even from the task bar right click menu.
I don't want to display this window.
Please help me.
Options:
Media Network - Use Media Network to share this library and enable DLNA: On
Startup - Windows Startup - Run on Windows startup: Media Server
Environment:
Media Center 25.0.54
Windows 10 Pro Ver.1809
Intel Core i5-6200U
16GB RAM

I don't know and I've never seen this problem.
We fixed a problem that was possibly related in 25.0.59. You could try it when it's posted on this board.
-
Believe it or not, something like this can happen on a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian and MC for Linux too if you have Media Server set to run on startup as well.
-
This issue occurs on both 32bit and 64bit of MC25.
I want the development team to investigate.
-
Have you tried uninstalling MC and then downloading the latest version and installing it afresh. I have not seen this problem with my installs of MC on any of my four machines.
-
Yes.
I tried to uninstall MC25 and install the latest version(25.0.59).
However, this issue was not solved.

Do you have connected a TV or a PC monitor?
I have sometimes a similar problem with my video renderer connected to my LG OLED TV. The problem only appears when I power on the video renderer first before I power on the TV. So I always power on the TV first. In my environment it seems to be an incompatibility between my GTX 960 (HDMI 2.0a) the HDMI cable (AQ Carbon) and the TV HDIM 2.0b. ?
-
No monitor is connected to my PC.
I'm using a DisplayPort dummy plug(display emulator).
Because my PC is dedicated to audio playback.
-
Display error continues from os build 1803 or later
Will the manufacturer respond properly?
-
Upgrade Windows 10 to 1903. Then run the upgrade process until no more new patches are available. Then upgrade your video driver.
Windows 10 1903 may have issues, but that definitely looks like a Windows issue, not a MC issue.
-
The contents described above have already verified build 1903 with a new installation.
Only JRiver has a problem with the display.
I would like to ask for a clear response.
All of the customers around us have this symptom.
-
I can reproduce it on Linux if I have the run on startup option set to Media Server. Do you have that same option enabled, by chance?
-
thank you for your answer.
Can you cope in the form to start up when necessary?
-
I have tried starting MC using the settings in the uploaded jpgs and I am not having any problems on any of my machines running windows 10 1903 with the latest updates. Could it possibly be antivirus software interfering with the startup process? Only a guess I'm afraid.
-
I get this all the time. Hit CTRL-ALT-Delete (which opens Task Manager. When the Task Manager little box opens, close it. Fixed on mine.
I believe this happens when I leave Media Center open and shut off receiver and tv. Computer and MC stay on. Above fix always works.
-
Just out of interest Dawgincontrol, which web browser have you selected in Tools>Options>Tree&View>Web Browser? Mine is internet explorer and I never get this problem.
-
Thank you everyone for writing.
It is the usage method of the software, but it is the usage method with the PC alone by the specifications in the basic settings at the time of installation.
I'm looking for an answer to the abnormal display in the basic settings that I do not use server function etc.

Internet Explorer. Cambridge Audio and Marantz receiver both have experienced this phenomena. If the program is shut down or minimized, if I remember right, it doesn't happen. Only when the program is left open full screen (which I generally do). Doesn't happen every time.

I'm trying out JRiver Media Center 25.0.88
It will be displayed in the upper left at the rate of once every 3 times
PowerDVD · Steam · Other start up with external software and display without problems.
Similar symptoms occur with either JRiver 24 or 25.
-
This seems like a video driver problem.
-
Video card
ZOTAC GAMING GeForce GTX 1660
Driver software
NVIDIA 431.60-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql
It is a setting basic.
-
You could try putting your computer into safe mode and then seeing if MC25 will open normally, if it does then some other software is interfering with MC processes. If it still opens in only a partial window then something very basic is wrong with the set up of the computer.
-
Thank you for answering
Unfortunately there is no safe mode start effect
Interference with other software is not seen
Basic work
OS ➡ chipset driver ➡ LAN driver ➡ video card driver ➡ audio driver ➡ OS update ➡ JRiver25.0.88 (There is no error except display at startup)
All basic settings
game software
Steam➡DOOM➡Borderlands 2➡ both comfortable start-up

Hi connect,
I have updated my nvidia graphics card drivers to the version you are using and on clicking the MC25 shortcut I get a completely normal startup with a full window, have even tried the startup mc server only setting and then started the main gui with no problem. The inference is that something on your system is not functioning as it should. This could include antivirus/firewall settings, inability to read data from the required startup folder, interference from other software, or knowing windows a thousand other little bugs. Sorry I couldn't help.
-
Thank you for writing.
Prepare two PCs basically the same
In the situation where you installed os build 1803 and 1903 respectively
There is no 1803 problem. There is 1903 problem.
Does the manufacturer not respond?
-
I am running MC25 on windows 10 1903 with latest updates and I don't suffer from the incomplete window which you are seeing - so I would suggest that it is likely to be the case that something in your particular setup is interfering with MC's startup procedure.
-
Excuse me, is there a particular problem and we'd appreciate it if you could tell me how to identify the problem.
Normally OS ➡ driver software ➡ OS update ➡ JR River Media Center 25.0.88 Where is the problem?
I want you to support the manufacturer!
-
I can't reproduce this.
Chances are the JRiver devs/team can't reproduce it either, and without being able to reproduce it, they can't fix it, plain and simple. Can anyone else reproduce this? If so, any way to reproduce it at will? It *could* be related to graphics drivers, or some weird Windows 10 issue or even something like screen resolution or something like that. It's hard to tell.
-
It can be reproduced immediately with Japanese OS.
Driver software All by the chip maker.
-
No-one is posting this as a problem on the Japanese MC thread, surely there would be a slew of postings there if this was a common result of MC within the Japanese OS ? I would have thought that windows 10 is windows 10 (with different language display) wherever you are in the world!
-
Did you really see the Japanese bulletin board?
It is at this address.
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,120816.0.html
First, there is a note on the bulletin board at the above address
Basically, I use general parts and driver software from chip makers.
If it is different, I think it is only OS language.
After that, there is no problem with the game software that is most likely to malfunction
I use from JRiver 19 but is the first time such a problem.
-
The result of installing JRiver25.0.89 after newly installing English version of Windows 10
It started without any problems.
English version of the OS has been prepared.
Problems that only occur in the Japanese version ?
-
I usually used the Japanese version of Windows 10.
And when JRiver 25 started up, an incomplete window was displayed.
I removed the Japanese version of Windows 10 and installed the English version of Windows 10.
The incomplete window never appeared.
I will continue to use the English version of Windows 10.
However, I hope that the Japanese version of Windows 10 will solve this problem.
