Title: Issues displaying artists in JRemote
Post by: Conrad on June 26, 2019, 03:42:27 pm
I have JRemote running on an iPad and an iPhone with the server running on a Windows 10 PC.
If I look at the library locally or loaded on to another computer (mac, or windows) I can see the Artists listed. If I connect to the library server using JRemote the artist view doesn't load. It just shows a single artist (which happens to be Pink Floyd).

Album, Recent, Genre, etc. all work perfectly.

I've deleted the app and reinstalled. Any ideas?

Sounds like a metadata issue, can you try Panel and see if you get the complete Artist list?

I tried that and it didn't work there either. No errors in the chrome dev tools to suggest anything either.
I had a look at my artists list and there were some special characters at the start of some names in both the Artist and Album Artist fields. I removed them but that didn't fix the issue.

I suspect it's special characters in the name, but I'm going to have to go through all the names and remove anything obvious.

Yeah if Panel gives the same result it points to your data.

Makes sense. So is there a way to create a view that would only include artists who's name includes characters not in a specific range?
I'm guessing I can create a regex filter?

Never mind, I think I fixed it (at least partially)
I had a couple of Japanese SACD imports that had special characters in the artist and album artist names. I removed those and things seem much better, so I think I'm good.

Thanks for the help
