Title: Reasons to re-analyse audio?
Post by: d_pert on June 28, 2019, 06:26:03 am
Aside from HDCD-related considerations:

Would there ever be any reason to re-analyse one's entire library, if it was last (re-)analysed following the release of v.19 (and the introduction, with that version, of R128)?

In other words, have there been any refinements to the analysis function which might yield improved measurements, or would any tags produced today end up being identical to the tags produced, say, as far back as v.19?

Thanks.

I don't believe so.  I think R128 was the last change.  Until HDCD.

Cool, thanks.

BTW -- I'm watching the Analyze Audio window working through approx. 65,000 files right now, three at a time, following the .70 HDCD introduction. I'm sure I haven't analyzed any of them since v.19: none of the figures in any of the ReplayGain and/or R128 related fields are changing following re-analysis -- only the HDCD column, from -1 to 0 or 1 (three 1s so far!).
