Title: Rebooting PC to get JRiver to play through DAC
Post by: Joeycococo on July 23, 2019, 12:19:31 pm
OK, this is probably not a question for the JRiver SMEs but....i figured you'll know.  I connect my laptop running JRiver to my Benchmark DAC2.  Once the DAC is on, I need to reboot the laptop to get JRiver to play through the DAC.  I always have to do this for some reason.  Does anyone know what the issue is?

Surely someone else has experienced this.  I can see JRiver playing. I can see the audio output selected as 'Benchmark DAC'. I just don't hear anything through the DAC.

My brother-in-law has a NAD DAC that must be powered up before starting Windows, otherwise it doesn't play. He has not found a solution.

If disabling and re-enabling the USB port fixes it  (or some similar USB related reset/rescan) after windows has booted you might be able to script a command at Windows startup. . .
