I'd like to change the content of the Panel Menu on the left side of the GUI. Specifically, I'd like to remove everything except the Images selection. I'm trying to make a MC install on my wife's PC that she can use for sorting photos. I want it to be as simple and clean as possible. Thanks!

"Options > General > Features" Turn off what you don't want.
There is no "Image Only" mode like the "Audio Only" mode though, and you can't edit the Navigation Bar directly to remove "mandatory" parts. But the option above will clean up lots of stuff and applies to the MC installation, rather than the Library, which is important if you are using a Client/Server installation.
Or just spend some time showing your wife how to navigate MC.

You can collapse the left hand Navigation area altogether if you'd like. Just drag the divider all the way to the left. Or double click on the divider and it will auto collapse. That will maximize screen area and remove the "confusing part on the left" if that's your aim.
