Title: Connect Track 1 with track 2
Post by: Ruben26 on August 21, 2019, 12:37:11 pm
If this topic is discussed somewhere else on this forum, my apologies and could the link being shared?

I tried the help function in MC25 and searching this forum but cannot find the solution: I assume it's possible. :)

I want to connect tracks that often are played together, so when shuffle is on track 1 always is followed by track 2 et cetera. I want to link/stack/? for example the following tracks with each other:

Jackson Browne - The Load-Out & Stay;
Juno Reactor: Conquistador I & II;
Tool: Parabol & Parabola
Dead Man Ray - Copy Of 78 I, II & III

I tried linking or stacking the tracks but during a test with shuffle on instead of track 2 another track starts.

Who can help with this?

Many thanks,
Ruben

Linked tracks will stay together through a shuffle.  Pick the files > Right-click > Library Tools > Link Tracks.

Ah Matt; THAT is so cool. Did not know about that feature. I have a few albums that all the tracks go from one track to the next as a single song. I've had to in the past always use gapless playback to hear the album as it was originally envisioned by the artists. Now all I need to do is simply Link Tracks.

I need to re-think my gapless settings.

THANKS SOOoooo much.

Linked tracks will stay together through a shuffle.  Pick the files > Right-click > Library Tools > Link Tracks.

I tried that, but that doesn't work stable. At first I did the above for the songs by Juno Reactor > nothing, then Jackson Browne > worked fine, then Tool > nothing until I turned shuffle off and on and it worked, Dead Man Ray doesn't matter what I do it fails (same with Dropkick Murphies Cadence To Arms & Do Or Die, nothing). After this I tried Jackson Browne again and doesn't work anymore either (no changes were made for these tracks).

All tracks are still Linked and restarting MC25 doesn't help.

I've Media Center 25.0.92 (64-bit) installed (updated Yesterday).

What could be causing this?

Just tried Linked Tracks & am having similar problems with it working as expected...
I linked all songs from a single album in a playlist of 4700 tracks. It does play all songs but not in track number order. Also it plays ALL the songs in a playlist including the ones I linked PLUS all the others that I did not link. Seems to be really messed up. Hope this gets resolved as it seems to be a really great feature (when working correctly) :'(

Hopefully problem will be solved in next update. While above solve should be straight forward.
