A little interface bug, in Build 149, I click pause and MC9 pauses.
If I click anywhere on the "progress slider" then MC9 starts playing, but the "pause" button still indicates that MC9 is paused.
If I click the "pause" button at this point, then MC9 pauses again (as it should)..
-
JohnS,
I can't reproduce it on my computer.
What file type are you playing when this happens?
Nikolay
-
MP3..
I'll check build 150, and if I still have the problem, I'll do a clean install..
-
After upgrading to build 150 I still see the problem.
After performing an uninstall of 150, then "clean" install of 150 I still see the problem.
Here's my machine info:

More info..
First I'll restate the sequence of events:
1. Start playing a mp3 file by clicking Play.
2. Click Pause.
3. Click anywhere on the "progress slider"; music starts playing, but "Play" button still has "arrow" icon and the status line above the progress slider says "Paused".
(this is the new part)
4. If I let the file play to completion and continue to the next file then MC9 plays the next file, and "fixes" the display so that the "Pause" icon is now displayed properly and the status line shows playing time/total time etc.
I've also tried different MegaMe Skins.. the issue shows up in PixOS, Tekno, Z, and GreenEyes. So it doesn't appear to be skin-specific.
-
(Hey, look at that! I've been promoted to a Junior Woodchuck.)
-
I get this too, with .149
I'll upgrade to the new build and try again.
-
Still present in 151...

I also can't reproduce it. Maybe it's Win2000 specific.
This is not a high priority problem for us. Is it for you?

Maybe it's Win2000 specific.
JohnS appears to be using XP.
This is not a high priority problem for us. Is it for you?
I didn't notice it until I read this thread. It doesn't affect functionality, so it's just an annoyance.
-
Yeah, I'm running XP..
And No, its not a show-stopper problem at all.. its just quirky UI behavior..
At work I tend to Pause the music alot, and then my dexterity at clicking the "play" button isn't always that accurate.. :)
Thankx for all of the hard work guys!! Great Product!
-
Appears to be fixed in 152...
but if playback is paused, I have to hit Play twice to get action from MC.
Again, not a major, but it's annoying.
-
Its not fixed in 152, but phelt is right, now the play button requires 2 clicks.
-
There must be something wrong with that Pause-button. See my problem in http://www.musicex.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=beta;action=display;n um=1049806905.
And that applies to W2K and WXP Pro
-
Again, I don't see this behavior. It works fine here.
Something is different about what you're doing.
I'm in mega mode, with PixOS skin.
(This is a good sign that we're mostly down to talking about weird, obscure problems.)
-
I spoke too soon...
Always using Mega-Me, always using PixOS
Using MC 9.0.154
I can always reproduce the results described by JohnS if using DirectSound or WaveOut. I do not get the same results if using ASIO. Clicking on the position bar moves the slider button but plaback does not resume.
Note that changing the output method (from DirectSound to WaveOut, for example) while a song is paused, then pressing play results in a Program Error, Media Jukebox.exe (crash). ...which is not something I'm going to do very often, but it's annoying.
-
ha ha.. This *IS* obscure!
Ok.. I've narrowed it down to this:
If I set Seeking (in playback options) to "Standard" the problem occurs.
It doesn't occur when Seeking is set to any other option.
This is still occurring in 154..
-
Way to go JohnS - I did not even try changing Seek behavior. I can confirm the effects - issue disappears when Seek mode is not set to Standard.
-
I also noticed that something is wrong with the pause/play button but for me it is happening in the TV Tuner. It either always shows the pause logo, or always the play logo. But it doesn't toggle when you click it.
-
Interesting one here:
I've tried several times to pause-play songs in MC without display plugin (display plugin: none).
And the very first time I try again with plugin "Lyric info" it crashes again.
I'm willing to test further, but that won't be before Thursday.
Maybe you can try too, Jim?
-
Bump
Jim: I tried above mentioned also at home with the same result. It seems something is a bit wrong with that Lyric Info plugin.
Would you check please?
-
Bump again.
Jim, I REALLY do think it's the plugin (which isn't named 'Lyrics', but 'Track info')
Would you please check it too?
-
I've noticed this problem to with 9.0.160 on my XP machine. In fact I was about to report it myself before I saw this thread. It's a pain especially when you want to pause a video and then slide to find a particular still frame. Also is there a keyboard shortcut to advance or rewind frame-by-frame?
-
Bump again and again...
Jim, I REALLY do think it's the plugin (which isn't named 'Lyrics', but 'Track info')
Would you please check it too?
-
The bug will be fixed in the next build.
Nikolay
-
Is this still a problem?
-
Still occurs in 172.
