Title: Feature request: Get info in the movie's own language and batch lookup subtltles
Post by: audunth on September 01, 2019, 03:41:56 am
Hi,

When I use "Get Movie & TV Info", it would be helpful if it could be set to automatically use the language native to the movie.

I'm Norwegian, so for Norwegian, Swedish and Danish movies, I like to have the description in those languages. And for English and other language movies, I'd like it in English. For example "Norwegian, Swedish, Danish for those movies, English for all other languages".

Also, it'd be helpful if the Genre field was populated in English (or any other selcted language) no matter the metadata, to avoid having several  of the same genre as different genres because of different languages.

Also it'd be nice to be able to look up subtitles in bulk, not having to do each one by one. Takes a loooong time if I import a TV Series with 100+ episodes and want to add subtitles...

Any of this possible?

I don't think we know the "native language" of a movie. Would it just be tied to the audio language you happen to have in your file? Many times if there is only one audio stream, its also not tagged with a language, so its hard to get that data in any way accurately.

I guess when doing a lookup, it would have to look up the 'Language' field first? And pick the first one if multiple languages?

How about batch lookup subtitles? If I import a TV show with lots of seasons, it takes the whole afternoon to download subtitles...

Maybe a dialog to select up to ,say, 4 languages to search for?
