Title: Crashes after 2 minutes
Post by: Feerix on May 08, 2003, 12:28:33 am
When I start Media Center is crashes after about 2 minutes without an error.  It happened with build 170 so I updated to 171 and it still happens.

Any ideas?

I'm running XP Pro SP1 on Pemtium 4

2 minutes huh?

You wouldn't have happened to try and install a crack at some point...would ya?

NO!

I downloaded MC and installed it, started it and 2 minutes later it crashed.  I did NOTHING to it.  No crack, nothing.

Maybe someone else installed a crack.

You install cracks??
I know during the 15 years of my first marriage, I'd say I had noticed a new one in my bedroom cceiling about once every 3 or 4 weeks.
I thought they just appeared . . . .
ya mean somebody had installed them??

;D

Feerix,

Don't pay to much attention to the previous posts. People are just having too much fun and sometimes get carried away.

What specifically did you do when the crash occurred? Did you play music or video? What type of file did you play? Does it happen every time you start Media Center? Does it crash and you see error message or does MC just exit? In other words, give us as much information as you can.

It isn't exactly 2 minutes, more like 1:43 or so.  It doesn't matter what I do, it always crashes.  Even if I only start MC and do nothing, it quits after the specific time.  And the time seems specific...

I don't think that anyone would install a crack on my pc.. why should someone do that? And I also did a fresh install..

I try removing and re-installing it now. ...

I guess it helped it.  Maybe it was soemthing with the Auto-Update function that didnt't happen to work with me? However, cool, it works again :D

Thanks for your help!
