Title: Renaming/Deleting top level view schemes
Post by: elo on October 30, 2019, 07:59:56 am
Hi... I feel uninformed asking about the following as I have used MC for many years, but I can not find the answers. The WIKI seems outdated on the issue.

How can I rename some of the default top level view schemes like VIDEO, DOCUMENTS etc.?
How can I delete those I do not want?

I know how to create new ones and those can be deleted / renamed easy but the default ones is another matter.

Please explain or point me to relevant info

My understanding that this is a bit of a mixed bag between two processes.

1) You can add new  top level views by selecting "add Library View" after right clicking on an existing view. Under Location, scroll up all the way and select "Root". Those can be renamed and deleted as well.

2) Standard views can't be renamed or deleted, but the relevant functionality can be disabled. Go to tools-> Options -> Features and deselect the corresponding feature. This makes the library view disappear.

Thank You. The info on deselecting in Options was very helpful!
