Title: *.ra files listed as video in Media Library
Post by: LisaRCT on May 04, 2003, 04:16:51 am
I have a collection of live concert performances (www.deadshows.com) in *.ra and *.rm format.
These are being listed by MC9 as Video files in Media Library.  This causes them not to show in my music collection.  When played, the Display window shows a message that 'Media Center cannot display visualizations for this file type', however the audio plays fine.

Also, does anyone know how to convert these to MP3 or other format?  I have yet to find software than can directly convert these (even from RealPlayer  {yuck!})

It probably wouldn't be a good idea to convert .ra/.rm files to mp3 since they are all lossy compression formats. You would end up with worse sound quality than the original files. A better choice (sound quality-wise) might be to convert them to .ape. I'm not sure you can directly convert them using MC, but you could probably output them to .wav files using diskwriter and then convert them.
