Title: I hate losing my 'Favorites'
Post by: LisaRCT on May 03, 2003, 09:27:38 am
:-[
I really hate losing my 'Favorites' list!   >:(
Same goes for my menu configuration.
As a fanatic (read: obsessive-compulsive . . .   ;)    ), I spend as much time and care arrainging these as I do my file tags, folder organization, playlists, etc . . .

Do we/Can we have a way to export or save a back-up copy of these? (If it is there, I haven't found it . . .  then again that doesn't always mean too much   ;D  )

Listening to Nirvana - Lithium from the Nevermind album
and playing it on MediaCenter 9 Of COURSE!!!

Open Regedit (Start > Run > Regedit > OK), navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox

Then select File > Export and provide a path and file name.  The only value you really want is "Tree Favorites", so if you ever want to import the REG file to restore your Favorites, edit it in Notepad first, and (carefully) remove everything except that value.

There is also a little freeware utility I know of which you can use to automate the backup of that value:

Registry Key Backup

That'll work for me.
I couldn't find the 'Favorites' entry there in the registry with the other JRiver settings, I will look again when I recreate them.
While I was in the registry editor I also savedmy 'MCBar'  settings while I was there so I know my toolbar will be safe :)
Thanks
