Rather than running my system over the network which consisted of iMac,NAS,and Hifi,which were all in different rooms and all had to be switch on.
I have now gone to a Mac mini setup ,direct USB to Streamer/Hifi.
A couple of queries I have are
The headless Mac ,should it always be on ?
I have a 2TB USB powered HD to the Mac.Would I benefit sound wise by changing this to a SSD ?
Would a mains powered HD make any difference rather than the USB powered one ?
I want to run all my library (flacs) connected externally ,rather not change anything inside the Mac.
I cant really see how a SSD could make this setup any faster, cos I thought any HD vis USB 3 is fast enough.
I only want the Mac to run MC25 nothing else, i can alter any settings over screen share from a Mac book.
Should I be switching off all background activity on the Mac ?
