We posted an early build of MC26 on Friday and unfortunately it has had a lot of crashes. I apologize.
I think it's happening during import (at least). And perhaps thumbnailing.
It may be Windows Defender or registration of our controls during installation. We've had several install problems, as well.
We'll give it our top priority today and hope to get to the bottom of it.
Anything you've learned will be appreciated. Post here and include a log if possible. Logging has a topic on the wiki. After a crash, it is the Previouslog.txt that will have the useful information.

This may not be related, but it's not impossible:
Google pausing Chrome browser rolllout.

My log file is too large to attach to this message.
How can I send it to you
-
That's the message I get after downloading and licencing MC26.
Is it related to the troubles you mentioned?

Reproduced it again.
Could be related with DSD.
Yesterday I imported PCM files and it worked ok.

If it's caused by IFS64.sys (https://www.file.net/process/ifs64.sys.html), then it's a Ashampoo driver issue and not MC. IFS64.sys is part of the Ashampoo Uninstaller program.

thanks! turned off the uninstaller monitoring and MC installed fine. :)

Can you please point me to the thread regarding Windows Defender?

Search should work.

Yeah, sorry. Found it a minute after :)
The instructions are pretty crazy.
Anyway, I tried to exclude folder and files but MC26 still crashes :(
-
Are you using 26.0.14?

Make sure you're using MC 26.0.14. The first build (26.0.12) was bad.
