Title: Java is not available
Post by: mparade on December 24, 2019, 06:24:22 am

Even though, I had already installed JRE, I got the following message from JRiver:

Quote
BD-J disc detected, but Java is not available. Install the Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) to play this disc."

Could someone send a link to the version of JRE that is supposed to be working with MC26?

Thank you very much for the help.

MC installs and uses its own Java version, exclusive to it. If you manually installed Java for MC only, I suggest you first uninstall it completely.

Then, open MC and try to play a Blu-Ray disc (I assume that's what you are trying to do?). It should download Java and install it automatically. In any case, it should do this whether you have manually installed Java in your system or not.

I have got the same error message after having all Java uninstalled from my system. I am trying to play my UHD Blu-ray Discs (folder structure) ripped to HDD already.

Try reinstalling MC.

Check your firewall too, as it could be blocking the download of Java within MC.

Still the same. After some seconds of "Installing components" the same error window appears with all of my UHD BD rips.
My OPPO-203 Signature can play them back flawlessly from NAS.

Reinstalling MC wont help with this issue. I did reinstall MC today ( uninstalled all JAVA from my HTPC before ), excluded all JRiver apps from the firewall and inspite "installing components" message appeared after opening BD structure, the error message about missing JAVA SE Environment appeared. Im on Windows 10.

May it be that JRiver "thinks" that JAVA components were installed but ina fact they were not? How can I trigger installing MC´s own JAVA components without doing reinstallation again?

That error happens because the components needed weren't successfully downloaded and installed. It sounds like antivirus/firewall software is blocking the component download.

How can I trigger downloading of the JAVA components without clean reinstall?

You don't have to reinstall.  You do have to fix the antivirus problem.
