Don't think it is a real showstopper, but I get some pretty nasty static when I convert my files from APE to WMP lossless (even with nothing playing...)

(Using an Maudio 410 sound card with ASIO enabled and JRSS 5.1 under XP SP1)

Not a show stopper, but do the following.

1) Open Options Menu
2) Click the scrollbar
3) now drag it down or up (whichever)

the overlay skin vanishes, then reappears.
Now

1) Open any program, and have MC become the inactive window. (do this with the options window open)
2) Return to MC.

the overlay skin has vanished for good this time. until you move over it with the mouse..

this has been an issue since day one of the scrollbar feature...  been driving me up a wall waiting to see if it would get fixed..  ;D  >:(

My highly-reproducible MC 9.0.166 crash (a carryover from 165):

1) Apply a mega-me skin.  (I'm not 100% sure if this is truly skin related, but I haven't reproduced the problem without skins enabled).

2) Load some tracks into Playing Now, and hit Alt-Enter to make the File Info dialog appear, docked (as opposed to being in windowed mode).

3) Close the File Info window, then close MC9.

4) Launch MC9, then show the File Info window, which should appear docked at first.

5) Using the "Windowed Mode Toggle" button in the docked File Info window, try changing the File Info window from being docked to being in windowed mode.  This is where the crash occurs for me, not every time, but at least 1/3 of the time (so it may take a few tries of steps 3 -5).

If anyone could "me too" this, I'd appreciate it.

I am STILL having problems with the MJVideoEncoder.ax and MJVideoDecoder.ax files not being registered after each upgrade.  I have to manually register the files using regsvr32 each time I upgrade. This has happened with every build since 9.0.157 and up.  This is a major pain.

Also, the graphics for the pause/play button does not toggle properly under the TV Tuner.

Bugs:
1. Column settings/changes for CD, DVD & Handhelds (my case CD-RW drives) are not remembered.  MC always reverts back to 5 columns displayed (Seq, Name, File Size, File Type and Filename).  I added the usual stuff (Track #, Artist, Album, Genre, Year) and clicked Save Current View, but MC forgets it (when a new disc is inserted or MC is restarted).

(Disclaimer:  Since part of the "show" is the sorting functionality, I consider this a show-stopper by definition. :))

To reproduce, go to Media Library->Audio->Artist/Album and select one of the albums.  Change the column order and sorting order.  Save View.  Make all views like current. (yada yada)

Click on any other artists' album and the order all changes back even though you selected "Make all view like current."  Exit MC and start again, the first album's new order (the one supposedly saved) is gone as well.

I would consider this a showstopper:
This streaming file stopped working about 7 builds (~9.0.159) ago:
http://radio24.stream.green.ch/radio24.wax
This links works fine on the real Audio player or Windows Player.

I have other radio stations that work fine in MC like
http://real.xobix.ch/live/rsr3.ram or mms://stream.green.ch/radioz

Since I use this station to wake me up in the morning I can confirm that it worked through all the builds over the last three months, but suddenly stopped working. I have not changed any of my Real Audio or Windows Medial player.

I have not been able to test it on 166 but in 165 I ran into a major problem using 'Rename files from properties'.

If you rename files from properties, using a field like Album, which is not filled for every item, with the option 'directory' switched on the following happens:

- items with Album field filled are handled correctly
- items with Album field empty will be renamed in the database correctly, however the actual file will remain in its original location. Result: the link between the record in the database and the actual file is lost!!!!

dopas,

Did you import these streams into your Media Library? If so, remove them and re-import. Couple of build ago, Media Center was importing streams and assigning to them wrong media type. That's fixed in the latest build but existing stations were not modified.

amwoza,

We tried to reproduce your problem but could not. I have good news for you - rate of new updates will slow down considerably after we release MC, so you wouldn't have to re-register the controls so often :) .

Until we figure out how to fix the problem, you can write BAT file chick will register filters with one mouse click.

Another way to (100% reproducibly, on my system) crash MC 9.0.166:

Set MC9 to use one of the "fadeout" methods while stopping (Options > Playback).  The fast, normal, and slow fadeout settings will all work, but the slow setting is the easiest one to reproduce the problem with.

Then, while a track is playing, click the Stop button twice in relatively rapid succession (i.e. so the second click takes place before the file has stopped playing).  MC9 crashes.

Click Stop once, no problem.  Click Stop a second time during fadeout, bye-bye MC9.

"Sort track # for albums" is getting you.  Turn it off if you don't like it. (Options -> Tree & View)

I've mentioned it before, but thought I should have it in this thread since I see it as a showstopper.

MC consistently freezes after playing about 10 songs from media server. Still happening as of 166.

BUGS:

Connection to Media Server is FAILING every time.

Here's the log from the machine it should be connecting to:

05/02/03 11:53:56 - Stopped auto response thread.

After it fails to connect, it then brings up the library window. Clicking on 'Exit' here without choosing one (I presumed it was going to just use the one I was enjoying before I tried to use media server) brings up an error message saying it's a critical error (happens every time).

Also, trying to play files that are located on a network drive fails when the machine is first booted unless I first connect to the drive through explorer and then with MC. Going into explorer showed the drive as disconnected but as soon as I double clicked on it, it rightly just opened the drive and realised it was connected - MC doesn't seem to bother trying on the other hand.

Jump on playing now (if has display) is jumping every time I try to play an mp3 when in hairstyle mode when it shouldn't be. I have to click the menu button again to toggle back to hairstyle.
