Title: library corrupt
Post by: maid on January 21, 2020, 02:15:26 am
I used music tag on my folders to import missing tags.
Now my music library is displaying songs with incorrect titles.

Please help I am desperate how do i fix this mess?
restoring library did not help as the tags are written to the files (I Think)

There's no chance you kept a back-up of all your files in a separate location, otherwise I think you're screwed since you changed all your metadata inside your files.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you overwrote all your tags they're permanently changed.

MC makes automatic backups.  Search for zip files.

Turn off auto import.
Restore library backup.
Do an "update tags from library" on the whole lot to re-write the MC data back into the file tags.
Turn auto import back on.

That should, hopefully, sort you out.

Good luck.

Marko I cant thank you enough. That worked.

I only got the music tag as a lot of my files dont have dates, would be great if the software would have just added the date but it is way too complicated to use.
