I put version 9.0 on my machine a couple of months ago/per 30 day free trial......... I loved it and after a couple of weeks learning the program I decided to purchase. Since then I have tried 2 or 3 times to update to later releases(after uninstalling), but each time I get to the installation, I get the following error message:
errors encountered while performing the operation, look at the information window for more details ~~~~~~~What information window?
I just tried the newest version (9.0.161)and got the same message.
I have had to go back to 9.0 .......... I am anxious to see what is new since I know the beta is close to release if it has not already been.
Any ideas? Thanks for any input.

Disable any download manager you're using and download the file again from this address:

We had a couple of similar reports that turned out to be problems with a download manager. It was mangling the file.

Jim's right. I had the same exact problem using StarDownloader v1.42.
Up to v1.41 all was well but the 1.42 update did not like the RAR compressed file format that JRiver uses.
I did find that the downloader built into Opera v7 browser that I use works just fine & is also a little faster then Star.

Maybe my friend..
But can you put 2000 mp3 to download in Opera download manager, going out for all the week-end and find the songs on your drive when you come back 2 days later?
I really like Star ,even if i do think the KING of download managers is GetRight.
But GetRight is not a download accelerator

Hi Zevele;
I download a LOT of files... very little music, a lot of shareware & other so the download manager built into Opera works great for me.
-
You are right, i'am just teasing you..
Opera was the first to have it ,from 4 as far as i know ,maybe before 4 .
This i do not know.
Despite all what they say on places like cnet ,Opera is still MUCH faster than IE.
-
You know, I've noticed the same thing. It seems that some sites (and some so-called PC related magazines) are so in bed with IE that they will say that IE is faster when in reality is is actually slower.
I got so mad at the slowness of IE I tried Opera 6 & WOW! Much better on all sites. Tried Opera 7 beta & was so impressed that I bought it.
You can't get me back with IE for anything.
Opera 7 RULES ;D

Thanks Jim ........... that was the problem. I orginally used Star DLer and I guess that it did "mangle" the file. (actually the dload from JRiver seemed just as fast)Thanks for the help. Also kudos to Adam over at the iPod lounge and the MC9 forum there. He and the forum have been alot of help to the bunch of folks w/iPods. BTW I love the newest release and think that it is one of the best programs I have ever used at any price. You can really see and feel the dedication that you guys have put into it. Keep up the good work.
Thanx again
