A while ago I created a playlist via Smartlist and it was a real belter. Yesterday I was up to track 240 and i'd only deleted 1 track from the list. I was stoked.
Today I was all ready to start at track 241 and .... the playlist had disappeared! Just gone with out a trace.
Any idea why? Any way I can retrieve it from goodness knows where?
-
The "Why" is a mystery (or so Toyah says anyway ;)) Do you have any server/client stuff going on?
The fix? Restore a library backup that MC makes automatically for you every couple of days?
-
No, no obvious server problems or anything. I'd saved it too of course. Yesterday it didn't appear when I first started MC but appeared later??? I have restored an earlier library but no luck. Weird.
-
Take a look under Playlists > Recent Playlists. Also under Smartlists.
-
Would you believe that it's back today!
This time I've exported the playlist. There's no way that I can export the tracks in a playlist is there?
-
Are you using a client/server arrangement?
If so, weird things can happen if you edit the playlists on the client. Best practice is to do playlist editing on the server instance of MC.

Not sure what you mean. I have MC25 installed on my PC and that's where I run it.
-
That's fine then. If you were using a client/server arrangement, you would know about it. You can safely ignore my previous post, and,
I'm sorry to tell you, I'm out of ideas as to what might be going on at your end.
A while ago I created a playlist via Smartlist...
What does this mean?
What did you do?
What rules did you use for your smartlist?
What did you name your playlist and smartlist?

Using Smart List I created a simple playlist = Rating is 5 stars/Genre is not any Christmas;Comedy;empty/Shuffle and then when the playlist was loaded I saved it as TOP tracks. Now WHEN it appears (and it's there again today) it shows in Blue under Playlists.
