Title: Combined MONO output & differential MONO output
Post by: seaark24 on February 19, 2020, 10:45:04 am
How do I using DSP studio in JRiver take the left and right channel and combine them into a MONO output that feeds BOTH left and right channels?

How do I subtract the two channels and have its output feed to BOTH left and right channels?

I see some options in DSP studio to do this, but it's not giving me the expected results.

Add the left to the right.  This makes a mono signal in the right.

Then mute the left.

Then add the right to the left to bring the mono signal back to stereo.

Thanks Matt -that got me on the track. I did it a little different.

For MONO
I added the Right to the Left
Then copy Left to Right

For differential
I subtracted Left from Right
Then copy Right to Left   --- this way I can now listen to unprocessed vertical cut recordings like Edison's and Pathe's

If you are summing two channels, remember to reduce the gain by 6.01 db.
