I just purchased MC to stream audio/image files to my tivo. Works great but now I'm wondering if I can stream (using Media Server) to MC running on my computer at work. The instructions say to select "More Tools -> Media Server -> Connect to". I don't see this in the MC Tools menu. All I see is "More Tools -> Media Server" and thats all.
Will a remote copy of MC connect to a copy of Media Server running at my home?
Help..... ?

Yes, given a couple of conditions.
1: run Media Server at home.
2: You must know the IP address of the home machine, and you must be able to receive connections (some ISPs do not allow incoming connections).
At work, just go to File->Library->Library Manager and create the library with the appropriate IP address and port.

Great.. Thanks...
My ISP blocks port 80 so I switched to another port and it works great. If I switch my port for use with MC, will tivo still work?

Yes, TiVo will still work. Just don't use port 8079 or 2190.

It works pretty well, if you have the bandwidth - I worked with the media server streaming to work for a few days, but got a little tired of my 128kbps upstream from home causing buffering pauses in the songs. It's cool to play with, though!
