In MC 26.0.29, we added a JRiver web service to make YouTube work again.
They changed their website format a while back and it made trailers, videos, YouTube in Theater View, etc. not work.
With this new web service, all of that should be working again. We call JRiver to ask for the URL of a video to play and JRiver answers.
You can view YouTube under Streaming in the tree. There's also a YouTube item in Theater View next to video. There are several ways to play trailers once you get them with a movie lookup.
Enjoy :)

When I try to sign in to google, using JRiver MC, to use youtube it keeps telling me that the browser or app might not be secure. I have no problem signing in to youtube using google chrome.
google Message I am getting.

YouTube sign-in is not working. I'll remove it from the next build. YouTube playback should be working.
-
You can test a build with removed sign-in here:
https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v26/latest/MediaCenter260030.exe (works on all systems)
https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v26/latest/MediaCenter260030-x64.exe (works on 64 bit systems only)
-
Will the sign in issue be fixed? I don't see much use in watching YouTube from within JR if I can't access my channels or history and having recommendations that don't match my interests.
-
YouTube broke again, but we fixed it here:
https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v26/latest/MediaCenter260032.exe (works on all systems)
https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v26/latest/MediaCenter260032-x64.exe (works on 64 bit systems only)
-
Tried 260032-x64.exe. Now clicking on anything in the Streaming column brings up "Media Options" window and nothing else.
I'm using Chromium Engine.

Some more YouTube work here:
https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v26/latest/MediaCenter260033.exe (works on all systems)
https://files.jriver.com/mediacenter/channels/v26/latest/MediaCenter260033-x64.exe (works on 64 bit systems only)

I am having the same problem when trying to sign in to youTube on the MC 26 Linux version.
Is there a fix for the linux version as well?

Unfortunately login for YouTube doesn't work because as far as I know Google blocks it from embedded web browsers now.
