Is it possible to get more than just stereo sound? I don't see any option to enable multi-channel audio.
-
Multichannel may not be supported by your DLNA device. It's not part of the standard. But try changing the setting on the server in Media Network options to send "original". It might work.

I will try it out. I am using VLC player on a 4k fire stick. Whatever was changed in 26 has made streaming work amazingly well again.

You may need to convert the file to a supported type, but If the renderer supports 5.1 in surround this definitely works.
Run AndrewFG's whitebear tool, it will tell you what your renderer supports. https://www.whitebear.ch/dmra

Indeed. You can download the DMRA from my sig.

It is not clear to me whether we are talking about 5.1 music or 5.1 audio with a video stream, but both definitely work with MC over DLNA.
But as others have said it depends on the capability of your renderer.
Using my Oppo 205 I am able to send 5.1 FLAC and 5.1 DSD music.
With movies I can send AC3, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD etc.

Was talking about movies. And it is now working! Buried in the tv settings had the preffered output being stereo for whatever reason. It works! Thanks!

Don't know if this will help, but none of my streaming devices (roku, xbone, amazon, 360) would work properly under MC25. This may be an error caused by me, but I didn't change any settings (that I know of) and it now works flawlessly with MC26. MC24 also worked very well for me. Just thought I'd mention it in case there was something different about MC25. Sure am glad I upgraded to 26.
