So I just upgraded to the newest MC26 - and can no longer open it. It crashes the moment it opens. What's happening? I'm on Mojave 10.14.6. iMac Pro.
-
Same problem in Windows 10 - I tried reinstalling MC 25 -s worked for a few seconds then crashed with an error message that "something happened".
Downloaded MC 26, plugged in my MC key - program claimed it accepted it.
Same problem.
FWIW: original installation W7. Restored an image onto a different drive so I could install W10 over it to save settings.
All other programs are working: can use Windows Media Player for mpg files - movies in various formats work (media center, VLC media player etc). Only MC won't play nicely.
-
Full version of MC?
26.0.29 is here:

Working fine here on nearly the same hardware.
Can you attach the apple crash dump?
-
Just downloaded from the link (vs. upgrading from within the app) and same thing: it crashes right away. Here's the partial Apple crash (it goes on more, obviously).
Just as a reference: I download the app, drag it into Applications, replace the old one on the prompt.

Could you copy the text of the crash dump into a textedit document then attach it here?

Here goes the full report.

The original post was for a Mac. Your Windows problem is certain to be different. Antivirus problem?
Please post on the Windows board and include the full version of MC that you use.

How far does it get before you see a crash?
Does the main screen come up?
Under System Preferences->Security and Privacy->Privacy->Accessibility
is Media Center 26 listed?
-
Yep, it's listed there!
The program crashes as soon as the "home screen" opens.

I'm just going to try to reinstall a previous version so I can actually listen to music. Maybe the next release won't be doing this.

Reinstalled 26.0.26 and it works fine...

Mine is crashing too, shortly after opening the program.
Mac Mini, Catalina 10.15.3
Media Center 26.0.34

Have you tried disabling auto-import and see if that stops the crashing?
-
I disabled all of the default auto import options and it seems to be stable.
-
If you can determine which file or file type causes the crash, we'd like to see a sample.

If your turn logging on and run the auto-import it should crash again with useful log info.
