We started working from home today. Could be a little awkward for a time.
My feelings were genuinely hurt by how gleeful Matt was about the change.
For many years, I've had lunch with the same three guys every Saturday. We're all the same age and have the same enigmatic sense of humor. I'm not going tomorrow.

I am certainly sorry to have stepped on toes. I think working from home is the right call. Although our team is now working remotely, I look forward to the great work we're going to do together.

Just kidding, Matt.

Good move. You are in the "at-risk" demographic Jim. I'm not far behind, but also not concerned because I am pretty healthy. But I don't want to be spreading Coronavirus to at-risk people.
It is a tough call when we are social butterflies.

I've been working from home for years now, so no change for me.
But as of right now they closed down all schools and any sort of public events have been forbidden, including pubs, cinemas, museums, and everything of that sort. Only restaurants remain open for the time being, with mandatory minimal distance between tables - for now. All of this until end of april for now, thats going to be long 6 weeks (if not more)
We're busy with our own news around here, so at most we hear news from other EU countries. Does the US take it serious by now? The only thing I heard recently is how Trump wanted to get an exclusive deal from a german vaccine development lab, luckily the investors behind that just laughed him out of the (virtual) room.

There are a lot of people who do take it seriously, but it's still changing quickly.

Strange days have found us.

It's starting to get a little crazy and weird. Going shopping and seeing all the paper towels, TP, bleach and cleaning products gone from shelves is very strange. I'm thinking I should stock up frozen food to have at least a month's worth of buffer in case things hit the fan even more.

We are making progress toward a cure and vaccine. Also good information about how the 80% of people who get mild infections fight it off.

The friendship and working relationship you've built up over the years will carry y'all through this, ummm, interruption.
When I managed a software engineering team, i always focused upon the "team" aspect, encouraging the building of friend-oriented working relationships.
As a result, 80% of the people I hired chose to stay with the company. I'd had a headhunter talk with me about my retention of the team. He was a professional friend, and he wanted to know how I developed such a loyalty in the team.
When i asked him how he knew of that, he just smiled.
