Question to anyone who has a strong opinion.
I searched and most of the firewire posts are from years ago.
I have a basic question, I have access to an older MacMini 2010 model with 8GB of RAM and an internal SSD but would have to use an external enclosure with Firewire for my collection.
Would this be fast enough for serving MP3s (my only use case)?
I edit all my stuff on my main workstation the MacMini would just be attached to my whole house stereo.

Should be fine

Thank you!
I've purchased every copy of JRiver since version 10, and started buying the multi OS version since 20. So I've gone thru Windows (10 chased me to Ubuntu), and now I've been toying with the idea of the Mac version. I can't get WAF if I have to buy two Mac Minis, but a friend has the old 2010 one he would give me and so then I get that up and running I can justify one for me.
Trying to stay busy during these funky, funky sheltered in place times.....
But a shout out to JRiver because music is what is keeping me from going insane.
