Title: Local Trailer feature request
Post by: tij on April 11, 2020, 06:51:20 am
At the moment … when MC gets information for the movie, it also gets trailer details from online and fills [Trailer] tag with something like "webmedia://YouTube/-44_igsZtgU"

I can replace that with path to my local trailers … but its a tedious job … one that gets wiped out if I get movie info again.

Since MC allows Trailers to be Sub Media Category … could MC check database if user already have trailer for that movie and use that instead of online one?

Also … can [Trailer] tag contains entries that points to several files … and when selected to play, MC choose randomly? (I tried something like "D:\trailer1.mkv; D:\trailer2.mkv" … it does not work)

I like this idea.

Also … can [Trailer] tag contains entries that points to several files … and when selected to play, MC choose randomly?

But on this, I would pop up a list of available trailers for the user to select from, rather than play a random one. Maybe they could even be a mix of local and web based trailers, although the naming might be a little confusing... and possibly long. It would have to be just the filename and/or web URL, not the full path. That might require file name structuring, such as [Name]-trailer-1, [Name]-trailer-2, [Name]-trailer-release, [Name]-trailer-final, etc. Some of the sequentially released trailers are entertainment in themselves. Just look at the Deadpool trailers!

Well … I figured how to include multiple trailers into [Trailer] tag … create playlist and put location of that playlist in [Trailer] tag

Its static … and upon selecting "Play Trailer" will play everything in playlist (so cannot randomly pick one trailer, or select particular trailer to play) … and still needs a lot of manual work

Fortunately I have very few trailers as not all disc comes with trailers … I guess I'd rather prefer MC team working on ASS/SSA subtitles :)

On the Get Movie & TV Info dialog if you uncheck "Overwrite" it will leave a filled trailer field alone.
