Title: Support for webp image format?
Post by: jmcafee on April 26, 2020, 09:04:49 pm
Today I ran across the .webp image format: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebP

Any plans to support this (for cover art, etc.)?

Just bumping this question - I have several webp format images that I want to import into MC, but it's not an option in MC auto-import to bring these in, nor will they display when you open the files with MC.
Is there a reason for this? Is it it's because I'm a version behind the latest MC? .Webp files are commonly used on the internet, the format has been developed by google, so it seems odd if they are not supported.

You are correct. MC25 is no longer updated, now as for your file type in MC26 I have no clue. You could ask that on the MC26 board tho....
