Title: Build 161: Streaming Problems
Post by: DWAnderson on April 25, 2003, 02:54:40 pm
1. The following streaming audio links play just fine in Windows Media Player, but do not play in Media Center UNLESS MC is selected as the default player for these types of files and the links are double clicked. Even when the first two are played (by clicking the links) they play in full screen mode and I have to hit escape to return to the main MC screen. They still will not play if the URLS are part of a playlist or if the URLs are entered directly after selecting "Open Streaming File..." I don't get any errors, just no indication that there is a connection (EXCEPT that the title of the streaming source is displayed where it should be) and no sound. All involve Windows Media:

http://www.brandoclassicotr.com/otr.asx
http://www.mediabay.com/stations/asx/otr.asx
http://www.otrnow.com/tunein/otrnowlive.wax

2. When playing http://www.otrnow.com/tunein/otrnowlive.wax and hitting the stop button I get a "Program Error" dialog saying "Media Jukebox.e.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows…." and MC crashes.

3. Attempting to play other streaming web audio, e.g. NDR 2 pops up the full screen interface when playing. Reconnecting from the main screen by hitting play does not cause this problem.

#1    These three stations do work for me now (build 160 & 161).  For the last several builds, stations that did work stopped working, and others that didn't work started working.  Before installing .160 i did an uninstall, deleted everything in the registry related to JRiver, and purged all Temp directories.  I don't know if it made a difference or if it's just coincidence, but streaming works better now.

Thanks. This solved issue 1 for me.

Issues 2 & 3 remain open.
