Title: Auto-tagging media for audio codec?
Post by: cowboydude99 on May 04, 2020, 01:26:14 pm
Hi there,
Is there a way to populate a tag field based on the media details?

For example, if I have 400 movies, some with Atmos, some with DTS-X, others with DD-  is there a way to have MC auto populate a tag field with the particular codec?

There is a "SHOWTIME" thread.  I'm trying to utilize the information in there and upon doing so, I realized I'd have to lookup over 400 movies to get the audio type, then manually tag each.

See Post #6 of this thread - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,106802.0.html

Basically, MC populates the "Compression" field with most codec info, but is unaware of if there are Meta Data extensions like Atmos, or DTS-X.  The thread above shows how you can scan and add this info.

Thanks!  I’ll give this a shot!

This seems to work with Atmos files, but not DTS:X.

In MediaInfo, the tracks show up as ObjectBased DTS XLL - which appears to be DTS:X.

When you run the tools, it does update to show DTS-HD MA, but not DTS:X.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it works fine with Atmos.
