Title: feature idea
Post by: mimizone on May 04, 2020, 07:38:44 pm
2 related ideas I believe actually, depending on the implementation.
So let me explain them here together. I hope it is not confusing.

first, I like to create playlists for an entire evening. But I know I'll pause after an album for instance.
Pause to do something else/take a break, or to avoid a brutal music change, or just to not be awaken cause I fell asleep on some ambient music :)
It would be nice to be able to "program" this in the playlist before hand.
I could see some kind of media type or actions. This action would be a pause, that could be of a certain length, or infinite.

But that's where the second idea comes in.
The item in the playlist could not only be a pause, but possibly a webhook of some kind that could trigger anything externally. Like a change of the light settings in the room using one of those Philips Hue for instance.

The two ideas are unrelated needs, but I hope you see they could be related in their implementation.

You got my attention with this ;D

I'll make a coming build have an option in the Volume menu to insert a clip of silence.

We already had a silence system, so it was easy to build on the duration.

Thanks for the idea!

Cool!
Something that would go to version 26 or 27 you think?

It should be out for Windows and Mac currently.

That's a pretty good idea. So basically have a "track" that can automate anything jriver can do. So you can place them in a playlist.
You could get pretty "meta" with this idea.
You could have a "track" that loads a play list. At the beginning of each playlist you could set the lighting to fit the mood. Or change the background.

Should be pretty simple to just add a few mcc to be called.
