Title: Using Media Centre 26 on two Windows 10 PCs
Post by: chriswimlett on May 10, 2020, 10:45:25 am
I've recently migrated Media Centre from an elderly Macbook to a Dell XPS desktop, which is connected to a Naim SuperUniti via DLNA and just recently an AudioQuest Dragonfly.  All ripping, library management, playback, etc. is handled by MC on the desktop, and I'm using JRemote2 for Android to control playback.

I'd also like to use my Dell XPS laptop to browse and update metadata in the main library on the desktop.  I guess this is straightforward in MC but I'm unsure of the best way to proceed, can someone point me in the right direction please?

I must say that MC runs like a dream on my new desktop!

Ha!  Is it as simple as adding a new library and entering the access key for the desktop library?  I'll experiment.

Yes.

As you wish to update metadata from the laptop, you will need to set up Read-Write Authentication. Note what can and what can't be synced from a MC Client to a MC Server.

Thanks, that's excellent.
