Title: Resume Playlist Option
Post by: Harroun4 on May 10, 2020, 11:12:26 pm
In my opinion, starting at the beginning of a playlist is the last place one wants to start playback.

The most desirable starting point is the last track played and continue from there. This makes a natural flow to play the entire collection (investment).

We have talked about this several times, but never got off the ground.

May I suggest for each smartlist/playlist an option when selecting that list to search down the tag fields of "last played date" for the most recent date, in meta data this is a simple integer. Look for the "MAX" value and start play back from there.

You will make many, many music users very happy by doing this.

Regards, Harrun

You could do this by using pause, not stop.

I don't think everyone would agree on this.

I do this by using the last played. I do this by adding a sort by option ... right click and scroll to last played...

just a thought

the problem with [last played] is it's harder using a remote, or if you happen to play one of the songs in the meantime

also pause does not function at all, on the assumption you've used MC in between playlist use

personally i think it's a neat idea and one i would use, but it does seem difficult to implement as you'd pretty much have to tie it to a playlist ID
