Title: Problems with Devialet AIR and MC video playback
Post by: Manfred on May 11, 2020, 12:42:24 pm
I use Devialet AIR as audio transport also for video. I use 5GHz Wifi instead of Ethernet. For audio this works usually.

Using Devialet AIR with JRiver Media Center (MC), AIR crashes in the following situation:

Good Case: Playing episode 1 which is part of a series. Using stop before episode 1 ended. Start playing episode 2. Everything is fine.

Bad   Case: Playing episode 1 which is part of a series. Using MC capabilities to automically start episode 2 after episode 1 ended. AIR crashes. I have sometimes to put off the power of my Niagara 1000 to get it rework.

Any idea?

I have tested a bit more:

⦁   Powerline instead of repeater leads to the same problem

Play the Bad Case from my PC and use AIR to stream audio to the D220 Pro in the living room. This seems to work :)

What is the difference: PC is directly connected to the router which is a layer 3 network device and audio is then streamed to Repeater->Switch (Layer 2 device)->D220 Pro.

Difference if playing the Bad Case from the media renderer: The path is different: Media Renderer->Switch->Repeater->D220 Pro.

The issue seems that if AIR is first finding a layer 2 network device (the switch) it has problems.  ?
