I'm sharing my movie library over Media Network, and I'm having issues with sidecar subtitles.
Normally, you would name the external subtitle file appropriately so that it is automatically identified as belonging to one specific video file. This works fine when playing movie locally.
When streaming over the internet, (or any network I guess) however, this system does not work. Instead, every subtitle file gets matched with every movie. If I play any movie, right click and go to subtitles, I see a list of all external subtitles that I have for all movies, regardless of their filename.
This can be fixed in a very specific scenario: if the client computer happens to have the same folder and file structure that includes the same movie and subtitle files, and I check the "Play local file if one that matches Library Server file is found" option, then and only then does MC offer me only the relevant subtitle(s).

No ideas from anyone on how to fix this? Do I need to provide more information?

What version are you running?
Check Release Notes.

I've been using 21.x, 24.x and now 26.x all the way up to and including 26.0.87 and the problem still exists.

This sounds like a simple mistake, I'll take a look on Monday

This should be fixed in an upcoming build.
