Title: Should MC reconnect to Media Server on startup?
Post by: Diverdown1964 on April 24, 2003, 04:58:25 am
It's possible that my problem has simply been aggravated by some problems I've been having with Media Server lately, BUT.

Whenever I start Media Center, it automatically tries to reconnect to the Media server. THis is fine if Media Server is there, and in a happy state, but if not, MC takes a VERY long time to try (> 2 minutes), and sometimes crashes if Media Server cannot be found, or replies incorrectly.

Does it make sense to have an option to "automatically reconnect to MS on startup"? Or is one already there that I haven't found?

Thanks

I've reported this same problem as well.

MC tries to connect and when it can't it just shuts down telling me that it couldn't load ANY library, despite the fact that I have a local library as well, and if I edit the registry, I can get it to open, and then load that library without any problems.

You should be able to set it how you want it in Library Manager (under File).

What exactly should we be setting? I've got Add, Edit, Delete, Load, & Exit.

MC always just tries to load the same library that was running when it exited. There is no "Set as default" option that I can find anywhere.

I can't seem to find the setting either. Maybe its hiding in the registry somewhere?
