I just want to stream video to my chromecast, but regardless of method, the video will freeze after approximately 1 minute 30 seconds of playback.
I've tried:
MC 23 -> Gizmo on my phone -> Chromecast
Purchasing MC26 -> Gizmo -> Chromecast
MC26 -> Purchasing Jremote2 -> Chromecast
Library server is on wired connection, the rest on wireless obviously.
And it's getting very frustrating at this point. Is this a known problem? The timing seems to point to some sort of tcp timeout.

Known, in that it has been reported a few times. I have the issue.

Personally, I think your guess that it is a TCP timeout could be correct. I can't prove it. I think my router is dropping certain packets, and hence losing the ARP record for the connection... or something like that.

Thanks for the feedback, do we have any indication if this affects the chromecast ultra as well as the regular chromecast?

I've tested using Chromecast on my TV.
I have Chromecast Ultra built into my HTPC, and tried testing there, but I had issues getting it to work at all. I didn't diagnose what was happening there. It could just be the PC. So I don't know if a working Chromecast Ultra installation has the problem or not.
