Title: Feature request: Video Path
Post by: Paul S.A. Renaud on May 29, 2020, 02:03:00 am
I love the Audio Path feature, especially now it handling DLNA better. It does not match Roon yet, which in my opinion has set the standard here. But, I would like a similar feature for Video (a video path). i.e. for video as well as audio, which is already there.

Roon has set the standard?  They don't even do standard DLNA/UPnP.

What would the video path show?  MC (for Mac) does not have any options that control video display.  I guess it could show original resolution and maybe output resolution?  But how would that help?

Brian.

I agree that in case of only MAC use it is limited, but in case of NUC (maybe one day NAS server or even smart tv support): original file - transcoding - subtitle handling - renderer - hardware acc. - resolution (incl. i or p ), frame rate native versus output. Same for audio and same for remote app.

I hate to name Plex, but it shows all is possible. Plex also supports more videoplayers for Apple (incl. TV and IPhone) and does direct play.
