Indeed, it is impossible to connect to a library which is larger than about 30-40 MB on my system. The client fails with a "the request has timed out message.
It is not a communication problem since I can connect to a smaller library.
I reported it many times. Two weeks ago I had to remove all my photos from my main library to reduce it. But it grow each day and now I cannot connect again.
Is there a registry entry I could modify to increase the time related to a time-out ?
It is really a show-stopper to me since all the family use Media Server to listen music at home. :'(

Jeepers! I've never seen such a large library...
I have around 12600 MP3's, and the library download is only about 1.4Mb, downloads to the client in about 5 secs...
Does the library get really big if you use MC to store images or something?

I was talking about the library size (in the server directory) not the library size downloaded which is much more smaller.
I have around 30000 songs but I had 2000 of them with BIOS and NOTES fields fullfilled. I just cleared these "large" fields (it is a pity...) and now the library size is about 20MB so I can connect through Media Server again.

Merde alors !
Des heures de boulot en l'air !

There is a time-out time set. Probably you have a more powerfull PC than mine (on the server side) so you are below the time limite still.
But anyway it is a problem related to the size of the library since I can connect to smaller ones (including my main library with bios & notes fields cleared).
BTW that prevents me to include my photos into the same library as it would increase the library size.

Hi Michel,
Make sure you are using the latest version.
What kind of network do you have? How long does it take to time out?
I'll check the code to see what can be done.

I am ever using the last version ! I was using 155 (the last one this week-end), for both server and client side.
What kind of network do you have?
I use a 100Mbs network.
How long does it take to time out?
I don't know exactly and I cannot retry right now as I am travelling this week, but let say about 15 s.
I'll check the code to see what can be done.
Thanks !

You should not be hitting a timeout with a 100MB network. Is the server heavily loaded?

Hi MIchel,
I think we found a fix. Try the next build.
