Title: Getting Track Info
Post by: Dan Da Man on April 22, 2003, 05:16:45 pm
I have a bunch of CDs which I ripped a long time ago and are still on my computer and tagged fine.

However, due to some unknown problem that had to do with Windows crashing and then reinstalling it twice without reformatting, some of my mp3s are littlered with skips and pops and other wierd paraphernalia.

So, I am trying to restore these from my CDs.  However, some of them aren't in YADB and were ripped last summer, long before the current MC library was created.

When I pop in a disc, they aren't recognized.  However, I do have the right tags in my library.  Is there any way to transfer them?

I tried submitting the track info to YADB and then retrieving it, but it doesn't retrieve the info.

Any other option to retain the track info?

Also, what do you think is the best size for my collection of album covers?  I noticed that MC uses something close to a 300x300, but would it be beneficial to have something bigger?

Thanks,

OK, so some of them are burned copies of discs.

But if I have the info in some other mp3s, is there any way to get them in the fields faster than typing?  Can't I copy the data somehow?

If not, well, I can type.  But, also, I don't have a tracklist in front of me, so I usually have to find that too.

Oh well, woe is me.

you can use cut and paste

you can't use shift and insert (not sure whay they changed that)

you must use shift and V

how ever there is a few places that shift and insert does work but I don't want to tell anyone or they (J river) will remove it.
