This stream only plays in Windows Media Player. I'd love to stream it to my TiVo and you'll have a sale 5 minutes after I see it work. I love to listen to this station. I have Windows Media Player on my Mac and my PC and they both can, but iTunes, WMP9 and MMJB can's serve it up as a stream.
Here's the stream:

genearch,
This problem will be fixed in next build of MC (9.0.147)

Yes!!!!!!!!!
I'm all over it.. looking at the posts.. looks like it was already released?
-
:(
Looks like no dice on that stream.. I just downloaded and loaded the .147 version and it fails to open that stream. I tried by adding as a radio station, no go. I then tried by pasting the url into WMP9, saving as a playlist and importing that playlist into MC. Finally I tried to open it as a stream from the File menu..
Any suggestions?
-
So.. apparently, the bottom line is that MC9 cannot stream that station to my TiVo..Time to look for another solution?
I can play it in MC9, no way to get it to the TiVo.
-
I'm also hoping to hear this is working... ?
Using JR MC 9.0.147 TiVo doesn't see any of the radio stations in Web media. Is there any setup required to stream Web media to TiVo?

Any update on this issue? Streaming non-MP3 webcasts to TiVo HMO? Many of us want BBC World Serivce streaming to our TiVos! Anyone figured it out yet?

Nikolay is the one who got it working (I just wanted to make sure you know who you love).

Let me second that love.
I just realized that if this is supported, I can listen to my Dolphin's football games from any room now when they aren't shown on my local stations.
Previously I was hopelessly tethered to my computer in the office.
-
CONFIRMED ... THAT station from above now works in 90155 builds :)

Is the HMO/streaming radio feature unique to MC9?
(Before I make an idiot of myself on other forums ;))

Yes, and has been added since 9.0.146, and they are still working out the kinks, but it works.
-
I don't know if it is unique to MC9. What about the Macintosh server?

Based on the posts here, this seems to be working. Am I doing something wrong?
I open a web stream by going to FILE on the menu bar. After it starts playing, I add it to a playlist that I created. Then I restart Media Server. When I go to the Tivo and try to play the playlist (now there are usually a few streams here), nothing happens.
I hope I'm not missing something obvious. I have the latest build and I'm using only Media Server (no Tivo Beacon).

I have yet to get it working myself even with the latest version so it is not just you.
-
same here.. I can play that stream in MC, publish it to it's own playlist but it never gets to the TiVo. (yes, I have stopped 7 restarted the media server)

Hi Y'all,
I can't do anything til monday, but would you post the streams you are having problems with?
Thanks,

Maybe it's the procedure I'm using? I'm opening the URL (stream) and adding it to a new playlist. The playlist never shows on the Tivo.
-
If you add anything to the MC library, you need to stop and re-start sharing in Media Server before it will be available to the TiVo.

well My streams are listed tivo reports and error

I have done just that.. maybe i'm missing something obvious?
1. Open stream (url)
2. Add to playlist
3. Name Playlist
4. Stop & Restart Media Server
No radio station playlist shows on TiVo
-
did you create a "Radio" playlist and put the links in there?
thats what i did.

I've only tried a few streams, and most don't work.
In particular, streams with directory in the URL path don't work.
IIRC there was some discussion of this on tivocommunity - ?
For example, this stream works on TiVo:
Radio Paradise: http://scastsrv2.shoutcast.com:8048/~~~stream~~~.mp3
These do not:
WUMB: http://www.live365.com/play/288258
Club 977:
http://152.163.134.164:80/stream/1040/~~~stream~~~.mp3
http://205.188.234.66:8010/~~~stream~~~.mp3
That last URL doesn't have directory path information, so I don't know why TiVo has problems with it.

CautionESPN asked for help getting started with streaming audio to TiVo. (This was in another thread that is now closed.) I think we got stuck at the same point: creating a playlist containing one or more stream files (stations). So here's how I do this now:
1) Click left to select the Playlist folder in the left window, then right click Add Playlist. Give your New Playlist a name (I used "TiVo streams").
2) Get hold of one or more streaming "files" (really URLs). Select Web Media and a listing of stations will come up in the content window. (Also from here you can query a database of stations.) Select the speaker icon and that stream will play. Or File> Open Streaming File and enter a URL directly.
3) Alternatively, you can go to shoutcast.com for a directory of stations. Click on Tune In. This should download a .pls (playlist file), and if your file associations are set, it should open in MediaCenter.
4) Once a stream is playing, it will appear in the Playing Now view. You can play a series of stations and they will stay in Playing Now (like a history list). Select, drag, & drop the stream file(s) into your new playlist. Don't be daunted if the stream file has the name of a song rather than the station - that's a GUI "feature", and you can always rename it later.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
If there's an easier way to create a streaming media playlist, I'd like to hear about it :)
Re-start or re-share in Media Server, and soon TiVo should notice your new playlist.
